The Art of Working with the Emotional Body

March 5 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

Enrollment note: This workshop is the fifth of five workshops of Pete’s The Art of Teaching Yoga training series. The series is designed to help new and seasoned instructors move out of their teaching comfort zones and develop more authentic presence and confidence.

You’re in the middle of class and one of your students begins to have a deep emotional release—how do you help guide them safely and compassionately while staying connected to the rest of your students? Learn how to anticipate releases, and how working with the emotional body can aid in deepening your students’ practice.
In this workshop, you will learn how to:
• Observe where and how the body holds common experiences such as tension, grief, anxiety, and depression, and how to assist students working through these conditions.
• Pinpoint which poses and assists will provide students with the most healing, based on what you know about their condition and what you observe in their practice.
• Hold space for a student when they are having a “release,” and clear the energy for the rest of your students.
• Decipher when it is best to give students space for their own healing (versus when to guide).
• Strengthen, clear, protect and direct your own energy as a healer.
25% discount to graduates of the Yoga Tree Teacher Training and Pete’s Lighting The Path Teacher Training.

Hours earned in this workshop are available as credit in the 500 & 1000 hour programs.
