It might sound contradictory that a yoga class can be vigorous and still provide space for connecting to your heart’s true intentions. Rolling out your mat in Pete’s classes shatters a great many preconceptions about what a yoga class can be. Longer holds, and a focus on breathing and body awareness provide students with a challenging class that allows space to connect the body, mind, and spirit. Pete uses his sense of humor, sweet and compassionate personality, and deep care for his students to weave heartfelt themes with safe, effective sequencing and personalized assisting.
Pete holds space for tears and laughter, and hopes that his students leave feeling renewed physically and emotionally, even when moving through challenges. Engaging playlists, unique poses, and plenty of options and modifications for all-levels are part of each and every class.
His classes are also home to a bright and beautiful community ready to welcome you and join you on your yoga journey.
"The lights are going down. Candles are on." Stepping into Candlelight Vinyasa can feel like stepping into a different world. Flickering candlelight greets students as they roll out mats in a gently heated room. The first 20-30 minutes of class are spent slowly waking up the body before moving into a vigorous, deep flow that integrates asana, breath work, and awareness. With only candles, soft light, and no mirrors, Pete will guide you into creating a more meditative yogic practice. You will be naturally encouraged to take your journey inward, connecting the mind, body and spirit.
Lighting the Path Intensives offer a unique opportunity for students to go deeper in their practice than they would in a traditional 90-minute class. Taught over three hours, intensives begin with ceremony and chanting, followed by a 2-hour asana practice. Each class incorporates pranayama, abdominal work, inversions and a variety of peak poses. This strong and vigorous practice is challenging, but profound; it helps to strip away the layers of old stories that hold us back in order to access new emotional and physical connections. Full of Pete's signature heart, compassion, and intuitive assisting, these morning classes will make you sweat, smile and leave feeling restored and grounded.
Morning Intensives are part of Pete's signature Lighting the Path Teacher Training. All students of yoga are welcome to participate in the intensive sessions, you do not have to be a teacher or teacher trainee to attend!
Come to a class that truly meets you where you are. Each Lighting the Path Vinyasa class begins with a heart-centered theme and connection with the breath. Dynamic and intelligently sequenced postures help you quiet your mind and energize your spirit. Sun salutations and standing poses help you work your way toward deeper hip and heart openers, twists and inversions with playfulness, compassion, and upbeat music. Pete carefully weaves his intention throughout the class, offering connections to life on and off the mat. This is an ideal class for those who like to sweat and move more quickly than a traditional hatha class, and also want more time to feel the alignment of poses in the body and connect more with the breath. All-levels are welcome.
